Sims 4 Stories: Grayson's Story, Post #1

This is a story from my Sims 4 game. I have no idea where this is going. Unlike the normal stuff I post this isn’t a game-play challenge. I don’t have anything really specific in mind. This will mostly just be a story. However, in this introduction post I will have some screenshots of the user interface mostly to show what Grayson looks like in CAS (create-a-sim). I have another household that will be a part of this series, but I will be posting the two concurrently as I play them.

Grayson lived alone and he liked it that way. Once he was old enough to leave the group home, he acquired a small house with sparse furnishings and not too many neighbors. The minimalistic style of the home put his mind at ease, and he preferred not to be near people. He found people to be loud, difficult and often unkind. He desired quiet solitude.

Now that he was on his own, he had to decide what he was going to do with himself. His plan was to go to a university. He wasn’t particularly confident he’d be able to succeed with his meager funds, lack of familial support and ignorance on what exactly going to a university entailed. Also, he was pretty certain there was going to be far too many people there.

If he didn’t get into a university, he’d have to get a job. He wasn’t sure what he type of career he wanted to pursue. Many of them sounded interesting and he wasn’t sure which one would suit him. Really he just wanted to learn more about everything.

It seemed like the people he grew up with mostly wanted to be rich or famous, preferably both. They talked about the cars and houses they’d have some day. A few of them wanted really big families or to be whisked off in a fairy tale romance. Grayson was always the odd one out.

Grayson didn’t care about money or fame. He wasn’t interested in a family. Frankly, romance didn’t really appeal to him either. Mostly, Grayson wanted to know more. The world was filled with things he knew so little about. He also enjoyed reading. Yes, including fiction. Learning about fictional people, places and things was still learning to him.

Oh, he also loved naps. Preferably on couches, but as a child he would frequently nap on the floor, in closets, hiding in large cardboard boxes…anywhere he’d fit that was quiet.

On the first day he moved into his house, as he was trying to unpack and settle into a new routine, strangers should up upon his doorstep.

They referred to themselves as a “welcome wagon”. Grayson was not amused. He also didn’t see any wagons. If he wanted companionship he’d head to a bar or join a social club or do whatever it is you are supposed to do to meet people.

He certainly didn’t want people coming to his door.

Grayson has just transitioned to a Young Adult. His appearance, however, gives a somewhat older impression, particularly his hair which has a bit of white in it.

I’m going to leave it here for now. But please, tell me in the comments, would you like story posts to be longer? Shorter (and more often)? Let me know what you like to read. I’m never certain as to when to end story posts. If you enjoyed this, let me know that too. It keeps me motivated to keep writing! If you write your own Sim stories on a blog, please leave a link below!
